Martin Heines, MAI received his MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute in 2000. He graduated from the University of Texas – Austin with a BBA degree, in 1985, with a double major in Real Estate and Finance. While at the University of Texas, Martin received a Texas Real Estate Brokers license in 1984 and began an appraisal career in 1984. He became a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in 1992. Joining his father’s Tyler real estate appraisal firm, John Heines, Inc, in 1985, Martin managed the residential appraisal department and appraised commercial properties until 2000. In the mid 1980’s Martin started Heines Properties, LLC and Martin Heines Etal, LLC that acquired, residential rental property in Tyler. Briarwood Group, Ltd was originated by Martin and The Opal Group, LLC in 1995. Briarwood Group, Ltd acquires office buildings and retail centers in Tyler.
